The Altar and Rosary Society of the Church of the Holy Family was reinstated during the pastor-ship of Father Clyde Lewis. The first meeting was held on October 28, 1998, with seven members present. The Officers elected were:
President - Mary Jean Delph
Vice President - Loretta Esposito
Secretary - Dorothy Delaney
Treasurer - Diantha LaVoie
A constitution and by-laws were developed, and by the following September, there were 73 new members.
Members meet on the 3rd Friday of the month, immediately after the 9:00AM Mass. No meetings are held during July or August and are weather-permitting during December and January.
Membership recruitment is held each September. Dues are $8.00 annually, and an envelope is included in the September Church envelope packet, for your convenience.
Members may join as active members, who attend meetings, or as Auxiliary members, who may attend meetings but do not commit to regular attendance. These members are often called upon to assist in fund raising events, such as bake sales.
Various Fund raising events generate money for the care and needs of the Altar, such as: New Vestments, Altar linens, Candles, Wine and Hosts.
The Altar and Rosary Society has sponsored several parish youngsters at Camp Guggenheim. We also coordinate the "Angela Davies, share the warmth with Seniors" project. Warm Lap-robes and slippers are collected during the Autumn weeks and distributed to Parish shut-ins at Christmas time.
