The Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation, also called Penance or Confession, is offered at Holy Family Church every Saturday afternoon from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and at special Penance services before Easter and Christmas. The Sacrament of Reconciliation has three elements: conversion, confession and celebration. In it we find God's unconditional forgiveness; as a result we are called to forgive others. Children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the second grade in preparation for their First Eucharist. Children who are not enrolled in Catholic school must participate in the Religious Education program for Christian Formation to receive the sacraments. To enroll your child in the program, please call the Religious Education office at 315- 782-6750 or email holyfamilyre @ yahoo. com. There is a small fee for books and materials. If you feel you are in dire need of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, you may make arrangements by calling the rectory at 782-2468, or by speaking with a priest after daily mass. |
